The highly anticipated new full-length release from Big Beat Tornado Groovopolis is almost here! Don't miss the CD Release Party at the Brass Lantern on Friday, September 9. It's BBT as you've never seen them before with a full horn section, new songs and a new stage show. And, of course, the new CD and other funky gear. Also check out the Groovopolis write-up in the Reading Eagle Weekender on Thursday, September 8. Joining us for this spectacular event are our good friends SeeLevel. And speaking of SeeLevel, don't miss the next BBT/SeeLevel New York bus trip on November 12, 2005! The first one went so well that we will be taking the funk back to Kenny's Castaways in Greenwich Village, NYC (and this time with more beer!). Tickets will be available at the CD Release Party, so get them early if you want to be guaranteed a seat. Also, ask about our one-night-only CD/T-Shirt/Bus Trip combo packs!

Thanks to all who made the bus trip last weekend, we all had a blast! It was an amazing time, only a few empty seats. You guys made it possible! We are looking to possibly do this again in November, stay tuned! In the meantime, another full night of Big Beat Tornado this Saturday, July 30, at The Works in Wyomissing, PA. This is an EXTRA special show, as it will feature Rob Diener on trumpet (formerly of Bunchafunk, The John King Dance Band, Bobby Mercer Band, and others). Yes, we have been working on expanding the BBT horn section for a fuller, more authentic "funk" sound. Don't miss it! Two looooooong sets! Also, production of our first full-length CD is winding down. We're very exicited about getting this CD out 13 songs, 70 minutes of music! Lots of guest musicians make this a killer disc. We are looking at a release date of late August, with a forthcoming CD Release Party to be held at the Brass Lantern sometime in September. Details to follow!

We are very excited about this project, its been a lot of work but its really starting to take shape. Several gigs coming up in June, hope to see you all soon!

If anyone knows the identify of the spider that nearly crippled our guitar player, please let us know. Anyway, a successful showing at last weekend's Garden Party! If anyone attended the gig visits this website, we'd love to hear from you. Coming up this Friday, DJ Meeshu featuring members of Big Beat Tornado at the Brass Lantern. This is NOT Big Beat Tornado, but fans of progressive, experimental, techno/groove music will find this interesting. Some non-BBT members will also be featured, so don't miss it! We are also working hard towards our August Brass Lantern gig... a FULL night of BBT is in store, look out!

Resting a bit after our first gig last weekend. But not content to rest on our collective laurels (what the hell are "laurels", anyway?), we are now gearing up for July's gigs, writing new tunes, working on some covers, etc. Website redesign is also in progress, new photos coming soon as well. More to come soon, stay tuned!
