Who reads these things anyway? Oh, you do? OK....

I have a fairly extensive background playing drums in various groups in Pittsburgh, St. Louis and Reading. I love playing funk and groove oriented music with a tendency towards fusion. Creating original music is most inspirational. I also love jazz and hope to someday have the chops to do it justice.

Drummers that I am currently digging include Carter Beauford (Dave Matthews Band), Steve Smith (Vital Information, etc.), Brian Blade (Joshua Redman and Kenny Garrett) and Stanon Moore (Galactic, Frequinox). I find that I like to watch and can learn from almost every drummer out there whether a professional or amateur.

Big Beat Tornado has been an interesting project. So far we have created some excellent grooves, however, I feel the best is yet to come. I think the sound is bright and refreshing, somewhat different than the normal sounds that you hear around the area.

At the beginning of the project I was experimenting with the latest electronic drumset technology. Depending on the show, I still switch between the electronics and acoustic drums. It's a sound/feel equation with each providing some positive and negatives.
